Have you ever wondered how the people you follow on Twitter manage to tweet so regularly? Are they constantly on their phone or computer? Nope! They schedule their tweets by using an online platform like Tweetdeck or Hootesuite. Read on to learn how you, too, can tweet regularly and effectively to reach your audience. This article focuses on Tweetdeck.

How often will I need to manage my Twitter?

By learning the ins and outs of Tweetdeck, you only need to spend 10 minutes a day managing your Twitter account. Or, if you prefer, you can just clump your 10 minutes a day into one chunk of time at the beginning of your week while checking in on Twitter occasionally to interact with your followers.

Every morning, you will spend 5 minutes coming up with 2 good tweets for the day and then schedule when you want to post them by using Tweetdeck. Then, later in the day, you will reply to followers and interact for another 5 minutes.

Or you can use Tweetdeck to schedule all your tweets at the beginning of the week and then spend 5 minutes a day replying, favoriting, and retweeting.

To schedule your tweets:

Create a free account on tweetdeck.com. Once you’ve linked your Tweetdeck account to your Twitter handle, click the new tweet icon in the upper left hand corner. You should try to tweet two or three times a day. Consistently follow your schedule.

Golden Rules for Effective Tweets:

1.Interact. Reply to people that tweet at you. Ask questions. Join existing conversations. Share other’s content. Etc.

2. Go verb crazy! Your followers want to read exciting, compelling tweets. Use verbs whenever possible.

3. Don’t be afraid to ask for a retweet. It may seem unnatural, but asking for retweets can dramatically increase your following. Try ending your tweets with a brief, “Please retweet!”

4. Share worthwhile information several times. If you have important news, tweet it more than once! That way, you can forward the information to the maximum number of people.

5. Tweet closer to the weekend. As the weekend approaches, Twitter activity soars, with Friday being the busiest day. Make sure you put content in front of all those eyes.
